“The Enemy only wants the answer to one question: What will it take to bring your commitment to Christ to an end? What is your price? God will give Satan his way in your life, not to satisfy either God’s or Satan’s curiosity, but rather so that you can know that you have no price. “ Walter A. Henrichsen (“Walt H”)
——:///// Thoughts from the Diary of a Desperate Man by Walter A Henrichsen (“Walt”) “Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord.” I Samuel 1:28 Hannah, the mother of Samuel, because she was barren, pled with the Lord to give her children. God answered her prayer, and she responded by “lending” Samuel to the Lord. The word for “lenf’ means, “to give back what was asked.” Hannah asked God for a son and when God answered her request she gave her son back to God. Thus we have a beautiful picture of our relationship with Jesus Christ. We asked Him for life and give back to Him what he gave us. We who were “dead in trespasses and sins, God made alive”408 through His Son, Jesus Christ. We who now have life imparted to us give our lives back to God. “And that He died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again.”409 When you give to the Lord, you don’t lose what is given. You merely send it ahead so that it is waiting for you in heaven. Hannah understood this when she lent her son to the Lord. She didn’t lose Samuel, not in this life nor in the life to come. How do you “lay up treasure in heaven?”410 By lending to the Lord, and you lend to the Lord by giving to His cause what He first gave you. 408 Ephesians 2:1 ———/:///// Ezekiel 8-10 Hebrews 13 (New King James Version) Ezekiel 8-10 Hebrews 13 |
