“God does not want our help; He wants our obedience… Never try to do battle for God by compromising His commands.” Walter A. Henrichsen (“Walt H”)
———/:///// Thoughts from the Diary of a Desperate Man by Walter A Henrichsen (“Walt”) “Now concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies. If anyone supposes that he knows anything, he has not yet known as he ought to know; but if anyone loves God, he is known by Him.” 1 Corinthians 8:1-3 Love and knowledge are inseparable in the Christian life. You must love in order to know. Love makes the person want to know you and be known by you. You cannot know someone unless they wish to be known by you. A person comes to you and says, “I would like to get to know you.” If you answer, “I do not wish to know you,” he cannot know you, for in order to know you you must reveal yourself to him. To whom are you willing to reveal yourself? Only to those with whom you wish a relationship and with whom you feel safe. Love creates an environment of safety, and therefore, if you wish to know a person you must love him. You cannot find or know God without His taking the initiative. You cannot know God unless He wishes you to know Him, and Paul cautions that He will not reveal Himself to you if you do not biblically love Him and others. You know God because you love Him and He has revealed Himself to you. What is true in your relationship with God follows in all relationships of life. If there are people you wish to know, love is key. ———/:///// Numbers 32-34 Mark 9:30-50 (New King James Version) Numbers 32-34 Mark 9:30-50 |
