What is Truth? …”Jesus tells us that the way to life is through the Truth: “I am the way, and the Truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me” (John 14: 6). Jesus Christ is the Truth, “in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2: 3), and we can only arrive at Truth through Him.” Jerry Bangert
———/:///// Thoughts from the Diary of a Desperate Man by Walter A Henrichsen (“Walt”) “Every one to whom much is given, of him will much be required; and of him to whom men commit much they will demand the more.” Luke 12:48 The world says, the more you have the more blessed you are. God says, the more you have the more accountable you are. You can understand why the world thinks this way; they don’t think of eternal accountability, measuring success only by what they can accrue in this life. If the Word of God is true, however, there will be a day of reckoning in which all will be judged, not on the basis of how much they accrued in this life, but on the basis of what they did with what they had and why they did it. During the days of slavery, the slaveholder had all and the slaves had none. From a temporal perspective, people would rather be the owner than the slave. But from an eternal perspective you see it the opposite. Stripped of all temporal wealth, the slave had nothing to hope for other than heaven, and when he arrived in the arms of Jesus, because he had little, little was required of him. “Many that are first will be last, and the last first.”251 When God bestows His abundance upon you, He expects you to be grateful, for you are blessed. But never forget that that is only half the equation; the more you have the more accountable you are. 251 Mark 10:31 ———/:///// Job 1-2 Acts 7:22-43 (New King James Version) Job 1-2 Acts 7:22-43 |
