“The greatest legacy one can pass on to one’s children and grandchildren is not money or other material things accumulated in one’s life, but rather a legacy of character and faith.” Billy Graham
———/:///// Thoughts from the Diary of a Desperate Man by Walter A Henrichsen (“Walt”) “Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to edify him.” Romans 15:2 The Bible deals with relationships. All human relationships have as their goal the glory of God. It seems to me that there are five possible relationships: First, a Christian with a Christian with Christ at the center. Second, a Christian with a non-Christian with Christ as the center. Third, a non-Christian with a non¬ Christian. Fourth, a Christian with a Christian where Christ isn’t central. Fifth, a Christian with a non-Christian where Christ isn’t central. The object in the first is edification, and in the second evangelism. The Bible does not deal with relationships number three through five; it knows nothing of people relating to one another with no thought of God. The only valid relationships you have in life are those where Christ is the center, not business, and not sports. You learn to glorify God by how you relate to others: with your wife by loving her, with you employer by obeying him, with your parents by honoring them, etc. All relationships have as their goal either the person coming into a saving relationship with the Jesus, or the person growing in his love and commitment to the Savior. If your relationship with others does not center on evangelism and edification, you are acting contrary to God’s intent for your life. ———/:///// Psalm 7-9 Acts 18 (New King James Version) Psalm 7-9 Acts 18 |
