“…manipulation angers God; it is a manifestation of not trusting Him.” Walter A. Henrichsen (“Walt”)
——:///// Thoughts from the Diary of a Desperate Man by Walter A Henrichsen (“Walt”) “…deliver us from evil.” Matt 6:13 David, during his years of wandering before becoming king, sought to slay the House of Nabal because of an offence committed by Nabal against him. En¬ route, Nabal’s wife Abigail intercepted David and interceded on Nabal’s behalf. When David put it all into perspective, he said, “…blessed be the Lord…. (For He) hath kept his servant from evil.”38 David realized that his intentions were evil, and that God had stopped him through the intervention of Abigail. Most believers, during a time of introspection, realize that their experience parallels David’s. There are times in their lives when God prevents them from executing their evil intentions. So important is this ministry of God that our Lord includes the request in the prayer He taught His disciples. The individual who does not see the necessity for such a prayer probably has not taken careful inventory of his own propensities and motives. This is one of the most important prayers in the arsenal of the believer, and something for which you should daily give God thanks. Looking back over my life I can see many occasions when my heart was intent on evil and God stopped me. It is one of the many expressions of His grace. 38 I Samuel 25:39 ———/:///// Exodus 16-18 Matthew 18:1-20 (New King James Version) Exodus 16-18 Matthew 18:1-20 |
