This may be the most politically incorrect commentary you read in a while. So, if you are especially sensitive, please just turn the page. I write this knowing people will disagree, my email will be flooded with responses and I may be punished, or as we like to say these days “cancelled”.
Regardless, the cultural madness needs to stop, and God-fearing leaders need to find their voice and push back against corporate America’s liberal agenda. The only way the tide will turn is through our votes and pocketbooks. We all need to be more mindful of the politicians and companies we support.
A good case in point is Disney’s push to teach young children about sexuality, a role that should be reserved for parents. I’ve often thought of Disney’s founder, Walt who, as a strong Christian would likely cringe at the values (or lack thereof) his company has come to embrace. Gone are the days of trusting that a Disney movie will be wholesome and teach family values. As for me and my house we’ll not spend a dime with Disney.
A recent Gallup poll concluded that just over 7 percent of adult Americans identify as LGBT. However, companies like Target, Amazon and Kohls dedicate millions of dollars to celebrate “Pride Month”. Why? With such a small market segment, the motive simply can’t be profit. The only way these big companies will know not everyone agrees with their ideology is if we spend our money elsewhere.
The movement to celebrate people of different sexual orientations is one of the most effective marketing campaigns ever undertaken. Last month you couldn’t drive a mile, get groceries or stop by an ATM without being reminded to celebrate gay pride. What do you think would happen to our society if we valued and celebrated all people regardless of race, gender or orientation? That’s the world we’d all like to live in.
Before you call me homophobic, racist or whatever other serious accusations are thrown at conservatives in a casual way, let me be clear – I am in no position to judge anyone. I genuinely care for my fellow humans. Because I care I think it’s important to implore that we please stop celebrating sin and trying to make everyone agree that things we know to be true are false. For example, trying to affirm a man is a woman or a woman is a man. God was pretty clear which gender we are when he made us.
Instead of mothers, we now have “birthing people.” Those of us that know what a woman is, know what an insult this is to mothers. Add to that, women’s sports have virtually been gutted as they now must compete against males. It’s clear there’s a cultural attack on women but our politicians just keep coming up with new laws pushing the liberal, progressive agenda. Be sure you know who you’re voting for before you go to the polls.
CALL TO ACTION: We still have choices when it comes to where and how we spend our money. I urge you to look behind the curtain and find out what corporations stand for before you invest with them. There are countless privately owned small businesses that need your support. Consider buying your next latte’ at a local coffee shop, or your new slacks at the local boutique down the street.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) “If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
